Violet’s Village
Changing Lives by Changing Minds
At Violet’s Village, we empower young people by teaching African history before slavery—through storytelling, music, poetry, and the arts. We nurture a sense of pride, belonging, and purpose, helping children understand that they come from a lineage of scholars, innovators, and leaders.
We plant seeds—of knowledge, culture, and community.

About Us
Our Purpose
For too long, African American children have been told they are less than—kept from their true history. We are here to change that.
At Violet’s Village, we teach young people about the brilliance of their ancestors, from the scholars of Timbuktu to the artists, engineers, and leaders who shaped civilizations. We replace false narratives with truth, instilling confidence and cultural pride.
Beyond history, we believe in action. Our students give back by growing food for their families and community, learning the value of care, respect, and self-sufficiency.
Together, we build a stronger future—one child, one story, one seed at a time.
